大家好。All the time when people ask what is my name, I have difficulties with providing an answer because it actually doesn’t exist. Don’t get me wrong, I have a name, but it is not an English one. That is why, to make things easier in China, I decided to adopt the Chinese name Wukong悟空. Yes, exactly, the same name as the protagonist of the famous novel “Journey to the West”, the Monkey King, but with a different surname, 但是他姓孫，而我姓陳。And Sun Wukong travelled to the West, but I did so to the East.

大家好。每次別人問(wèn)我叫什么名字，我很難回答，因?yàn)檫@壓根不存在。不要誤會(huì)我的意思，其實(shí)我有名字，但不是英文名。所以為了更方便在中國(guó)生活，我給自己取了個(gè)中文名“悟空”。沒(méi)錯(cuò)，就是《西游記》的主人公孫悟空，他姓孫，而我姓陳。孫悟空“西游”，而我“東游”。

My journey to the West started back in Europe, where I did 打工 (worked) and earned some euros in one of Amsterdam’s building sites. After I went back to Ukraine, I felt bored about European life and was very excited about life in Asia (all I knew about Asia was just from books, movies and some stories). So, I found a job in China through a Ukrainian job portal online.

我的“西游記”要從歐洲講起。我在荷蘭阿姆斯特丹的一個(gè)建筑工地上打過(guò)工，賺了一些歐元。回到烏克蘭后，我開(kāi)始厭煩在歐洲生活，非?？释絹喼奚睿ㄎ覍?duì)亞洲的了解只是來(lái)自書(shū)本、電影和故事）。因此，我在烏克蘭的一個(gè)招聘網(wǎng)站上找到了一份在中國(guó)的工作。

Fortunately, I had enough money, that I had earned back in the Netherlands, to prepare all the visa documents and book a one-way flight ticket. And, so far, I haven’t booked the return ticket.

幸運(yùn)的是，我在荷蘭賺到了足夠多的錢(qián)，用來(lái)申請(qǐng)簽證，訂一張單程機(jī)票。到目前為止，我還沒(méi)有訂過(guò)回程機(jī)票。

I have lived in Beijing, Guangzhou, Dali, Kunming and Xiamen. I have travelled to Shanghai city, Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces hitchhiking. I really love the Western part of China for its wilderness and cultural varieties which makes it the perfect place for travelling. But about a place to live, I prefer Xiamen or Dali.

我曾住在北京、廣州、大理、昆明和廈門(mén)，也曾搭順風(fēng)車去上海、新疆、西藏、青海、內(nèi)蒙古、甘肅、寧夏、陜西、四川、云南、貴州、廣西、海南、廣東、福建、浙江、江蘇等省市旅行。我真的很喜歡中國(guó)西部，那里有廣袤無(wú)垠的荒野，豐富多彩的文化，是理想的旅行目的地。但是，如果讓我選擇一個(gè)城市生活，我更喜歡廈門(mén)或者大理。

About the city that became my home – Xiamen what I like best is a combination of developing atmosphere and at the same time slow, relaxed temp of life. Of course, I can’t forget to mention the weather, seaside and mountains, food, people and authentic Minnan閩南 culture.

廈門(mén)已經(jīng)成為了我的家，這里城市快節(jié)奏的發(fā)展與人們慢節(jié)奏的生活達(dá)到完美融合，這是我最喜歡的。當(dāng)然，我一定要夸夸這里的天氣、海灘、山林、美食、人民和地道的閩南文化。

What I like most about China as a whole is that it is a huge territory of different cultures, minorities, landscapes, food and lifestyles. China is a place where people can have a happy, modern and safe life and we can choose whether to live next to the sea or the mountains, the countryside or the metropolis, cold and snowy places or warm tropical islands, all can be found here.

我喜歡中國(guó)，因?yàn)樗鶈T遼闊，擁有不同的文化、眾多的少數(shù)民族、優(yōu)美的風(fēng)景、美味的食物和多種多樣的生活方式。生活在中國(guó)，人們能感受到幸福、安全以及現(xiàn)代化，我們可以選擇住在海邊還是山上，住在農(nóng)村還是大都市，住在寒冷的雪地還是溫暖的熱帶島嶼，中國(guó)應(yīng)有盡有。

I am fascinated by technologies, infrastructure, fast developing, and the monetary system of modern China. All this enriches and simplifies the life of residents. Also I am fascinated by the Chinese characters, 漢字, Chinese medicine 中醫(yī), and culture of ancient China. Knowledge of Chinese civilization gives a very specific taste of life.

我對(duì)現(xiàn)代中國(guó)的技術(shù)、基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施、快速發(fā)展和貨幣體系非常著迷，這些都讓人民的生活更加豐富便利。我還對(duì)漢字、中醫(yī)和古代中國(guó)的文化非常感興趣。了解中國(guó)文明給生活帶來(lái)了一種獨(dú)特的韻味。

My unique China story happened 3 years ago in one of Sichuan’s Buddhist temples in the mountains next to Tibet. It was the time when God decided to save my life. One day during my first big trip around China by hitchhiking, I had a chance to stay overnight inside a Buddhist temple. The next day, when monks were busy with their lessons, I have gone for rock climbing next to the temple. I have climbed almost half of the rock and bumped into a male mountain goat. After a few minutes of staring at each other, the animal attacked me. It sounds funny – the goat attacked a human, but on the high rock where you barely can keep balance with the frightening angry king of that mountain attacking me, it wasn’t funny at all. We have started to fight. The goat used his horns to attack and I was kicking, bunching him, trying to push him down. At that moment, time slowed down, heartbeat quicken, my mind was cold and 100% concentrated. I had never had this kind of feeling before, but I guess it happens with humans when the life is in danger. Well, after 3 rounds of high altitude martial arts, the animal was gone. Nature gave me the chance to keep going on this life journey.

我講講三年前在中國(guó)的獨(dú)特經(jīng)歷。那是在四川的一個(gè)佛寺里，就在西藏旁邊的山上。那段經(jīng)歷是上帝對(duì)我的救贖。第一次搭車環(huán)游中國(guó)的時(shí)候，有一天我在一個(gè)佛寺里過(guò)夜。第二天，和尚們忙著修行的時(shí)候，我就去寺廟旁邊攀巖了。我爬到一半的時(shí)候，碰到了一只山羊。對(duì)視幾分鐘后，它攻擊了我。這聽(tīng)起來(lái)很滑稽——山羊會(huì)攻擊人，但在高高的巖石上，你幾乎無(wú)法保持平衡，那只羊就像憤怒的山中之王，橫沖直撞，這一點(diǎn)都不好笑。我們進(jìn)入戰(zhàn)斗。山羊用它的角頂我，我用腳踢它，雙手抱住它，想把它撂倒。那一刻，時(shí)間仿佛變慢了，心跳得更快了，精神百分之百集中，沒(méi)有一點(diǎn)雜念。我以前從來(lái)沒(méi)有過(guò)這種感覺(jué)，但我想，當(dāng)人的生命受到威脅時(shí)，每個(gè)人都會(huì)有這種感覺(jué)。最后，經(jīng)過(guò) 3 輪高空決斗后，那只山羊消失在了我的視野。大自然給了我機(jī)會(huì)，讓我繼續(xù)我的生命旅程。

Ukraine is second largest country in Europe which has a beautiful land with mountains, sea, forests and vast open plains. Its black soil produces plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and grains which feed not only Ukrainians but also many other European countries. Ukraine is one of the Slavic countries which has its own beautiful language and folk music. During centuries, our country has got an impact from different civilizations and cultures, but it still keeps its authentic traditions so far. For example, torch festival when we are jumping over the fire, Water-Sprinkling Monday with water fights, harvest festival, diving to the ice shell during the winter, traditional weaving of flower crowns and many others.

烏克蘭是歐洲第二大的國(guó)家，風(fēng)景秀麗，擁有山脈、海洋、森林和廣闊的平原。黑土地上能收獲許多新鮮水果、蔬菜和谷物，不僅養(yǎng)活了烏克蘭人，也養(yǎng)活了歐洲其他國(guó)家的人。烏克蘭是斯拉夫國(guó)家之一，有自己優(yōu)美的語(yǔ)言和民樂(lè)。幾個(gè)世紀(jì)以來(lái)，我們國(guó)家受到了不同文明和文化的影響，但至今仍保持著自己的文化傳統(tǒng)。例如，跳火的火把節(jié)、復(fù)活節(jié)后第一個(gè)周一舉行的潑水節(jié)、豐收節(jié)，冬天潛“冰”，編織傳統(tǒng)的花冠等等。

Life itself drives us where we deserve to be. All you need is to have a plan, commit to your goals, prepare, be consistent and have faith. My story is one example… I went to Germany to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor but it didn’t work out because of my family financial conditions back then. I had to serve myself and I couldn’t give my 100% towards my goal so I planned to continue my studies elsewhere.

生命本身會(huì)指引我們到達(dá)應(yīng)該到達(dá)的地方。你需要有所計(jì)劃，朝著你的目標(biāo)前進(jìn)，做好萬(wàn)全準(zhǔn)備，堅(jiān)持不懈，充滿信心。我的經(jīng)歷就是一個(gè)很好的例子…我漂洋過(guò)海來(lái)到德國(guó)，希望實(shí)現(xiàn)我的醫(yī)生夢(mèng)，但由于當(dāng)時(shí)我的家庭經(jīng)濟(jì)條件，這個(gè)夢(mèng)想落空了。我必須要為自己的決定負(fù)責(zé)，我當(dāng)時(shí)沒(méi)有為我的目標(biāo)付出100%的努力。我決定到另一個(gè)地方繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)。

The question arose: Where to go for this? Then, I chose China. It is true that China is a symbol of ambition, hard work and success around the globe. In fact, the amazing academic and research developments in China have made this country the first choice for students. Chinese educational institutions have made their mark globally, attracting students and professionals from around the globe.

問(wèn)題是去哪里呢？我選擇了中國(guó)。中國(guó)充滿雄心壯志，人們辛勤工作，一步步走向全球。事實(shí)上，中國(guó)驚人的學(xué)術(shù)研究發(fā)展令這個(gè)國(guó)家成為學(xué)生的首選。中國(guó)的教育機(jī)構(gòu)已經(jīng)在全球范圍內(nèi)打響了知名度，吸引了來(lái)自全球各地的學(xué)生和專業(yè)人士。

My decision to study in China was based on my research on the Internet and from a few people I met in Germany and a few friends who studied in China. In fact, the amazing academic facilities, global standards of education and research, friendly relations and, above all, the love and hospitality of the people of China convinced me that China is the best place for studying.

我在網(wǎng)上查找相關(guān)資料，問(wèn)了幾個(gè)德國(guó)和在中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)的朋友，最終決定到中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)。中國(guó)令人驚嘆的學(xué)術(shù)能力、國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的教育和研究、與外國(guó)友好的關(guān)系，最重要的是中國(guó)人民的熱情好客，讓我相信中國(guó)是留學(xué)的最佳目的地。

In my search, I looked for the best universities with high rankings and renowned faculties, and learned about the procedure to apply for China Scholarship Council. After reading about the faculty and the school’s research achievements, I shortlisted Jilin university which is ranking in top 10 which made me curious; I sent an email to them through help of my friend requesting the acceptance letter, we had an interview, they appreciated my work and granted it.

我挑選了排名靠前、院系知名的好大學(xué)，并熟悉了申請(qǐng)中國(guó)國(guó)家留學(xué)基金的程序。在查閱了學(xué)校師資和科研成果的相關(guān)資料后，我將吉林大學(xué)列入了前十所候選院校；在朋友的幫助下，我給吉大發(fā)了一封郵件，希望能錄取我。然后他們對(duì)我進(jìn)行面試，他們非常贊賞我做的努力，允許我進(jìn)入吉大學(xué)習(xí)。

Thereafter I started making arrangements about traveling to the university. There were many questions: then through my friend I got references of things to bring along and about few basics that I needed to know before going to China. On?September 2016?I reached Beijing airport at morning. It was like entering a new planet; I had no contacts there and was not familiar with the local language.

然后，我準(zhǔn)備啟程前往吉林大學(xué)。但是還有很多問(wèn)題需要解決。我詢問(wèn)朋友去中國(guó)需要帶什么，從他那里我也了解到了關(guān)于中國(guó)的一些基本知識(shí)。2016 年 9 月的某天早上，我抵達(dá)北京機(jī)場(chǎng)。這就像來(lái)到一個(gè)新的星球，我在中國(guó)沒(méi)有人可以聯(lián)系，也不懂中文。

At first, I felt like a fish who’d jumped into a dry boat, trying to find a way out. I reached the university 8 hours after leaving the airport from Beijing to Changchun but couldn’t find where the international students’ office was located. After asking many local students, none of whom knew about the international student building’s whereabouts, at last, I found someone from my same major who guided me to the office.

起初，我覺(jué)得自己就像一條跳進(jìn)旱船的魚(yú)，試圖找到一條出路。從北京到長(zhǎng)春的機(jī)場(chǎng)出來(lái) 8 小時(shí)后，我到達(dá)吉林大學(xué)，但怎么也找不到留學(xué)生辦公室。問(wèn)了很多當(dāng)?shù)氐膶W(xué)生，他們都不知道，最后，我找到了同專業(yè)的同學(xué)，他帶我去辦公室。

After talking with the staff, they showed me the dormitory, gave me keys to my room, and even after that the staff member asked if I was OK or still had any questions. It was touching to be helped in such a selfless way.

與工作人員交談后，他們帶我看了宿舍，給了我宿舍鑰匙。他們甚至還問(wèn)我是否適應(yīng)，有什么困難需要幫助。他們都無(wú)私地幫助我解決困難，令我非常感動(dòng)。

My medical education time in China was an unforgettable experience, every day was a new adventure, I made life-long friends and lasting memories. What I enjoyed most about my studies in China, is that whatever Mandarin I learned in class, I would use outside as well to communicate with people, whether it be taxi drivers or shop keepers. Having the opportunity to speak Mandarin every day really fostered my learning.

我在中國(guó)學(xué)醫(yī)是一次難忘的經(jīng)歷，每天都有新的冒險(xiǎn)。我結(jié)識(shí)了許多能陪伴一輩子的朋友，留下了永恒的回憶。我最喜歡的事就是，每次在課堂上學(xué)到一句普通話，我就出去用它跟別人交流，無(wú)論對(duì)方是做什么的，出租車司機(jī)還是商店老板。每天都有機(jī)會(huì)練習(xí)普通話，這也令我的中文水平不斷提高。

Well, I am sure that learning a new language, along with the medical studies, is not what the local students in India will experience. Above all, Chinese language is becoming so strong in the world, these days, that after I become a doctor, I can even practice in China and in a few countries where this language is spoken. This would certainly add value to my resume as an International Doctor.

在學(xué)醫(yī)的同時(shí)學(xué)習(xí)一門(mén)新語(yǔ)言，這在印度是辦不到的。最重要的是，如今中文在世界范圍內(nèi)正變得如此強(qiáng)大，在我成為醫(yī)生之后，我甚至可以在中國(guó)以及其他說(shuō)中文的國(guó)家工作。這無(wú)疑會(huì)給我的“國(guó)際醫(yī)生”簡(jiǎn)歷增加含金量。

Now I am in my internship phase which is my last year probably, now when I look back, it’s been 5 years in China. I have been to many places in vacations and experienced so much beauty in China.

現(xiàn)在我正處于實(shí)習(xí)階段，這可能是我大學(xué)的最后一年。回首才發(fā)現(xiàn)，我已經(jīng)在中國(guó)待 5 年了。我利用假期去了很多地方，欣賞了許多美景。

The main thing I will miss when I leave China is children. Chinese children are so cute and loving. Before the pandemic we had 2 months’ vacation, so in January I went to Jilin to visit my friend and stayed there for 2 months. I had such lovely days, I met a few local kids and we became friends. I used to go play with them literally every day, we exchanged chocolates and learned games from each other.

我想，離開(kāi)中國(guó)時(shí)，我會(huì)想念中國(guó)的小朋友們。他們非常可愛(ài)，富有愛(ài)心。新冠疫情爆發(fā)前，我有兩個(gè)月的假期，所以一月份我去吉林看望我的朋友，在那里待了兩個(gè)月。那段時(shí)光非常美好，我遇到了一些當(dāng)?shù)氐暮⒆?，我們成為了好朋友。我每天都和他們一起玩，我們?huì)分享巧克力，一起玩游戲。

Suddenly, the COVID pandemic started, and because of travel restrictions I couldn’t leave Jilin. I was stuck there for 8 months straight and I was so worried… Everything had changed so abruptly and I was left with no choice but to stay at one place alone. But I was so privileged, the community people took care of me, being a foreigner they tried helping me in any possible ways. Especially the elderly were so loving. Despite the language barrier they tried communicating with me and we had amazing conversations.

突然間，新冠疫情爆發(fā)了，由于旅行限制，我無(wú)法離開(kāi)吉林。我在那里待了 8 個(gè)月，我非常憂慮……一切都來(lái)得如此突然，我別無(wú)選擇，只能獨(dú)自待在同一個(gè)地方。但我很榮幸，周遭的人很照顧我這個(gè)外國(guó)人，他們會(huì)盡力幫助我。特別是那些老人，他們是那么的有愛(ài)心。盡管語(yǔ)言不通，但他們還是嘗試與我交流，我們的溝通非常愉快。

I should also mention about local people doing aerobics in parks, squares, and stations. I still go join them whenever I have time! People here are so fit and fine. I like to watch them doing that fun stuff while taking care of their health. Moreover, the food is very different to Indian food, but I still love it. When I leave, I’m going to miss everything here: my university, my local friends, the beautiful scenery, my hostel room, the sports courts, my professors who inspire me a lot with their knowledge, my classes, labs… Starting from the first year of my medical college life in China, I have participated in every sports, educational events and cultural activities arranged by the university, and outside the university, which made me explore more and strive?to learn and do more.

我必須提到當(dāng)?shù)厝嗽诠珗@里、廣場(chǎng)上做的有氧運(yùn)動(dòng)，只要我有時(shí)間，我都會(huì)加入他們。這里的人都很健康，我喜歡看他們做那些有趣的運(yùn)動(dòng)，同時(shí)非常注重養(yǎng)生。此外，中國(guó)的飲食和印度不太一樣，不過(guò)我很喜歡。如果我離開(kāi)這里，我會(huì)想念這里的一切：吉林大學(xué)、當(dāng)?shù)氐呐笥?，還有這里美麗的風(fēng)景、宿舍，運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng)，當(dāng)然還有我的教授，他們給了我很大的啟迪，還有課程、實(shí)驗(yàn)室。從我在中國(guó)醫(yī)學(xué)院生活的第一年開(kāi)始，我就參加校內(nèi)外各種體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，教育和文化活動(dòng)，這讓我更加努力學(xué)習(xí)，做更多有意義的事情。

All that has happened to me after arriving in China has made an impression on my heart. The Chinese people are full of hospitality, they are genuinely cooperative, wise-hearted, with a welcoming nature. All concerns I had in my mind about the language barrier, or other difficulties were proved wrong once I arrived in China, the products of misperceptions and misinformation. After coming here, I feel at ease and comfortable being here with the most loving and helpful people in the globe. While I graduate from Jilin university, I also hope I will better understand humanity, hospitality and ethics while living and learning at Changchun. I believe this new understanding will polish and shape me into a brand new human being.

來(lái)到中國(guó)后所發(fā)生的一切都在我心中留下了深刻的印象。中國(guó)人熱情好客，真誠(chéng)合作，充滿智慧，敞開(kāi)懷抱歡迎八方賓客。我擔(dān)心來(lái)中國(guó)語(yǔ)言不通以及其他因素會(huì)帶來(lái)很多困難，但到這里才發(fā)現(xiàn)，之所以會(huì)產(chǎn)生這種擔(dān)憂，是因?yàn)槲覀儗?duì)中國(guó)存在誤解，事實(shí)證明這種擔(dān)憂是多余的。在中國(guó)，我無(wú)時(shí)無(wú)刻不感到安心和舒適，因?yàn)檫@里有全世界最富有愛(ài)心、最樂(lè)于助人的人。從吉林大學(xué)畢業(yè)時(shí)，我也希望在長(zhǎng)春的學(xué)習(xí)生活中，能對(duì)人性、熱情、美德有更深刻的理解。我相信這種新的理解能將我塑造我成為一個(gè)全新的人。

I first came to China in 2015, but the journey to China started a long time ago. More than 15 years ago, when I was a little girl, I had a conversation with my dad about my future goals. He suggested that I should study the Chinese language, he said the 21st century is the “Century of China”, and the Chinese language is the “Language of the Future”. I didn’t understand him at that time, because China seemed to be very far away, and I hardly knew anything about this country. In those times, we didn’t have internet, and the only link to the world – the TV – never talked about China.

我第一次來(lái)中國(guó)是在 2015 年，但我的中國(guó)故事很早就開(kāi)始了。15 年前，當(dāng)時(shí)還是小女孩的我和父親一起討論我的未來(lái)。他建議我學(xué)習(xí)中文，他說(shuō)21世紀(jì)是“中國(guó)的世紀(jì)”，而中文是“未來(lái)的語(yǔ)言”。當(dāng)時(shí)我還不理解這句話的含義，因?yàn)橹袊?guó)似乎很遙遠(yuǎn)，我對(duì)這個(gè)國(guó)家?guī)缀跻粺o(wú)所知。那個(gè)年代沒(méi)有互聯(lián)網(wǎng)，唯一能了解世界的渠道——電視也從未介紹過(guò)中國(guó)。

Years later, when I went to the university, I was interested in linguistics. I’ve studied the basics of Ancient Greek, German, French, Russian, English, and of course Georgian to understand the structure of the languages. Once, at the beginning of a new semester, I found out that my university was offering classes in Chinese. I immediately remembered the advice my father gave me years ago. Besides, I hadn’t learned any Asian language before, so I decided to give it a try.

多年后，大學(xué)時(shí)期的我對(duì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)非常感興趣。我學(xué)習(xí)了古希臘語(yǔ)、德語(yǔ)、法語(yǔ)、俄語(yǔ)、英語(yǔ)的基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)，當(dāng)然還有格魯吉亞語(yǔ)，從而了解語(yǔ)言結(jié)構(gòu)。有一年，新學(xué)期開(kāi)始時(shí)，我發(fā)現(xiàn)大學(xué)要開(kāi)設(shè)中文課。我立刻記起了父親多年前給我的建議，而且我沒(méi)有學(xué)過(guò)任何亞洲語(yǔ)言，所以決定試一試。

The journey of learning Chinese was not easy. In our society, if something is hard, we say “It’s as hard as Chinese”. But after several months, I found out that the Chinese language has a very logical system, and even though there are thousands of characters, there are keys to organize them. This was the moment when I decided to keep learning, and so I did!

學(xué)習(xí)中文的過(guò)程并不簡(jiǎn)單。在格魯吉亞，如果形容一件事很難，我們會(huì)說(shuō)“它和中文一樣難”。但幾個(gè)月后，我發(fā)現(xiàn)中文有一個(gè)清晰的邏輯體系，雖然有成千上萬(wàn)的漢字，但總有把這些漢字組織到一起的關(guān)鍵。于是我決定繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)中文，并且說(shuō)到做到！

I remember the moment before departure. That night, I was sitting in the airplane cabin and it was my first flight ever. I was going somewhere where I knew nobody, somewhere where I had never been, and I didn’t know what to expect from this place. But my heart was full of excitement, joy, and willingness to start the journey.

我依然記得出發(fā)前的那一刻。那天晚上，我坐在飛機(jī)艙，這是我第一次坐飛機(jī)。我將去一個(gè)誰(shuí)也不認(rèn)識(shí)的地方，一個(gè)我從未去過(guò)的地方，我不知道要對(duì)這個(gè)地方懷揣怎樣的期待。但我的心充滿了興奮、喜悅，迫不及待地開(kāi)啟這段旅程。

My first year in Beijing was full of adventures. Besides learning the language, I also traveled across the country. Before traveling, I used to think that the rhythm of life was very quick in China because it is like that in Beijing.? But after visiting smaller places, like Leshan (Chengdu Province) and Yuanyang (Yunnan Province), I found out that there can be many types of lifestyles in China, you can choose the one you like.

我在北京的第一年充滿了冒險(xiǎn)。除了學(xué)習(xí)中文，我還去中國(guó)各地旅行。旅行之前，我曾認(rèn)為中國(guó)的生活節(jié)奏非?？?，因?yàn)楸本┚褪沁@樣的。但去過(guò)一些小城市后，比如成都樂(lè)山、云南元陽(yáng)，我發(fā)現(xiàn)中國(guó)人的生活方式多種多樣，你可以選擇你喜歡的方式生活。

Once I finished my program in BLCU and went back to Georgia, the only thing I was thinking about was to find a way to come back. I participated in dozens of activities related to China and finally was honored to win second place in the Chinese Bridge competition in Georgia. This gave me chance to visit China again. During the Chinese Bridge Summer camp, I was invited to a family in a rural place near Changsha. The family lived an ordinary life there, had domestic animals and a beautiful garden full of vegetables. They knew almost nothing about me but still received me as a good friend coming from a far place. I stayed there only for a day, but I will never forget their hospitality and kindness.

我從北京語(yǔ)言大學(xué)畢業(yè)，回到格魯吉亞后，我一心想要回來(lái)。我參加了幾十項(xiàng)與中國(guó)相關(guān)的活動(dòng)，很榮幸在格魯吉亞的漢語(yǔ)橋比賽中獲得了第二名。這讓我有機(jī)會(huì)再次來(lái)到中國(guó)。參加漢語(yǔ)橋夏令營(yíng)期間，我到長(zhǎng)沙農(nóng)村的一個(gè)家庭里做客。這家人過(guò)著普通的生活，園子里養(yǎng)著家畜，種滿蔬菜。他們對(duì)我一無(wú)所知，但仍然把我當(dāng)作一個(gè)來(lái)自遠(yuǎn)方的好朋友來(lái)接待。我在那里只待了一天，但我永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)忘記他們的熱情善良。

The hardest time for me in China was my first semester at Tsinghua University. At that time, I had to learn the subjects that were already very hard, in the Chinese language. That was the most challenging time of my life. But what made me go through, was the support I received from my teachers and classmates.

我在中國(guó)也經(jīng)歷過(guò)困難的時(shí)候，那是在清華大學(xué)的第一個(gè)學(xué)期。我得用中文學(xué)習(xí)那些非常難的科目。那是我生命中最艱難的時(shí)刻，但我堅(jiān)持下來(lái)了，離不開(kāi)老師和同學(xué)對(duì)我的支持與幫助。

So, what makes me love China? Why do I keep coming back to this country? Is it because China has vibrant cities, beautiful sceneries, yummy food, and incredible technologies? Surely, yes, but if I had to choose only one reason, I would say: it’s because of the people. People, who build the huge cities; and those, who keep the beauty and simplicity of the rural places; the people who create modern technologies to let everyone live an easier and safer life; the people who are chasing their dreams and diligently working for a better tomorrow; the people who share my happiness and give me a helping hand when I need it. It is the people who make me feel safe and calm here.That’s why it is the place where I learn, grow and the place where I want to be.

How did your journey in China begin?

Once upon a time, there was an 18-year-old girl deciding on her undergrad major. She decided she wanted to graduate in Translation and Interpreting Studies, but what languages would she choose? That girl barely out of teenagehood was me, and I decided to come to Asia and so my second major language during university was Chinese. From acquaintances to university clerks, everyone warned me —Chinese is so very difficult, are you sure?

曾經(jīng)有一個(gè) 18 歲的女孩正在選擇本科讀什么專業(yè)。她終于決定要讀口筆譯專業(yè)，她會(huì)選擇什么語(yǔ)言呢？那個(gè)剛剛走出青春期的女孩就是我，我決定來(lái)到亞洲，所以我在大學(xué)期間選擇中文作為我的第二外語(yǔ)。從朋友到大學(xué)職工，每個(gè)人都警告過(guò)我——中文非常難，你確定要學(xué)嗎？

I’ve never looked back. I owe to 18 y.o. me and her decisions the chance to learn a fascinating language and come experience life in this faraway country where I have grown a better, more open minded individual. Plus, I’ve made some amazing friends and memories too!

What do you like most about Beijing?

你最喜歡北京的什么？

I have always been based in Beijing and what I truly love here, despite the cost of life and the pure metropolitan chaos, is the feeling that Beijing truly never sleeps. I already could feel this back in my university days here at BFSU, but it’s doubly valid nowadays in my current chapter here, juggling my work life with my social life. Everyone I know is always enthusiastically involved with some personal creative endeavour. We’re also probably running short on sleep, and sometimes you realise that there’s this FOMO (fear of missing out) making you jump from one venue to the next, from one exciting plan with friends to the next. It can be tiring, but for the most part, I find it invigorating. It’s also about the community; as long as you’re diligent to find your hobbies and a tribe, soon enough you’ll find it’s hard to feel lonely or bored here. I’m part of a vibrant community of writers, artists, musicians, shakers and makers, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s s so inspiring, and it’s made me grow, as an individual and a creative.

What fascinated you the most about living in China?

I guess it all boils down to this notion of “contrast”. Contrast between the most impressive technology that always takes longer to get to my home country and certain traditional cultural elements that persist; between the city and the countryside; between one corner and the next, between seasons, even. It’s this comprehensive experience that makes every day different. If you embrace this contrast, it can be a really enriching, foundational experience.

What is your unique China story?

My unique China story is made of a mosaic of faces and a kaleidoscope of memories accrued over time and space(s). It’s made of leisurely walks in the hutong, where you stop for a second to close your eyes and truly soak up the sweltering glory of a Beijing summer. It’s smoky and bustling, like the live music venues I hit with friends. It’s quirky and whimsical, like the tunes of the Chinese indie pop music I love to listen to. It’s complex — to every up there is inevitably a low, such is life and I have my own challenges here too. It’s my own story, and I like to think I’ve written it myself as much as I can.

My China story starts in 2007 in Hungary, where I was teaching international political economy at the Corvinus University of Budapest, and researching public economic policy issues in a think-tank. I was in a relationship for 4 years, I owned a small flat and a car, and lived in a nice environment with my beloved in the green Buda side of the capital city. So I had an ongoing academic career, close to finishing my PhD at the International Relations program, and had what we can call a normal life.

我的中國(guó)故事還要從 2007 年的匈牙利講起，當(dāng)時(shí)我在布達(dá)佩斯的科維努斯大學(xué)教授國(guó)際政治經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)，還在一個(gè)智庫(kù)研究公共經(jīng)濟(jì)政策問(wèn)題。當(dāng)時(shí)我正在談一段維持四年的感情，擁有一套小公寓和一輛小車，和我的女友住在樹(shù)木繁茂的布達(dá)城區(qū)。我正在進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)研究，即將取得國(guó)際關(guān)系博士學(xué)位，過(guò)著正常的生活。

A year before, I had started to work on China-related topics, researching mainly Hungarian-Chinese relations and China related issues in Hungary. But I had never visited China, didn’t speak the language, didn’t know the culture too much, only some part of the history, and contemporary relations. An idea came to me about visiting China to learn the language and culture, so I searched for funds and applied for several scholarships, but I only got refusal. Later I got support from the think-tank boss. He agreed that if I went to China to learn the language, I could work remotely for their foundation and could finance myself in this way. So, I decided to travel to China for a year, and enrolled in a language program in Shenzhen University.

一年前我開(kāi)始研究與中國(guó)有關(guān)的課題，主要研究匈中關(guān)系以及與匈牙利相關(guān)的中國(guó)問(wèn)題。我從來(lái)沒(méi)有來(lái)過(guò)中國(guó)，不會(huì)說(shuō)漢語(yǔ)，對(duì)中國(guó)文化也不是很了解，只懂得一些中國(guó)歷史和當(dāng)今世界的國(guó)際關(guān)系。我腦海里萌生了一個(gè)想法，我要來(lái)中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言和文化，為了獲得資金，我申請(qǐng)了幾個(gè)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，但都沒(méi)有通過(guò)。后來(lái)我得到了智庫(kù)老板的支持，他說(shuō)如果我去中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ)，我可以在線上為他們的基金會(huì)工作，從而獲得資金支持。于是，我決定留學(xué)中國(guó)一年，在深圳大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ)。

I asked for one year leave at the university, changed my status at the foundation research team to online researcher, and travelled to Shenzhen in September 2008. When I arrived, I only could say ni hao, so everything was new and strange. I lived in the campus for a year, learnt the language with enthusiasm, started a blog to keep in touch with my family and friends, and slowly started to know Shenzhen, my new home, better. My plan was to study the language as much as I could, and after a year, travel back to Hungary and continue the old life I had left there.

我向?qū)W校請(qǐng)了一年的假，把我在基金會(huì)研究小組的身份改為線上研究員。我于2008 年 9 月來(lái)到深圳。剛到深圳時(shí)，我只會(huì)說(shuō)“你好”，一切都很新鮮和陌生。我在學(xué)校里住了一年，滿懷激情地學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ)。我還開(kāi)通了博客，與家人和朋友保持聯(lián)系。我也慢慢熟悉深圳，我的新家。我計(jì)劃是盡力學(xué)習(xí)漢語(yǔ)，一年后再回到匈牙利，回到以前的生活。

I got used to the new circumstances very quickly, and studied hard. For the winter break I travelled back home to meet my family and to make an end to my previous relationship. After a time, I realized that I could not go on in that relationship, and we agreed to finish that journey together. Then I travelled back to Shenzhen, now as a single man, and continued my studies.In the spring time another call came: extending my stay in China for another year, joining the team of the China High Tech Fair (CHTF) organizing committee and becoming responsible for the Hungarian-Chinese relations and technology cooperation. It also meant to give up my academic career and at least delay my PhD thesis issues. The decision was not easy, but I chose to make a big turn in my life. Soon after this my online research work ended too, so I was related to only my limited salary in Shenzhen and savings for the next year.

我很快就適應(yīng)了新環(huán)境，并努力學(xué)習(xí)。寒假期間，我回了趟國(guó)，見(jiàn)我的家人，與女友分手。一段時(shí)間后，我意識(shí)到我們已經(jīng)無(wú)法繼續(xù)走下去，所以我們同意一起結(jié)束這段關(guān)系。我恢復(fù)單身，回到深圳，繼續(xù)我的學(xué)業(yè)。春季，又有一個(gè)電話打來(lái)：讓我在中國(guó)再待一年，加入中國(guó)高交會(huì)（CHTF）組委會(huì)，負(fù)責(zé)匈中關(guān)系和技術(shù)合作。這也意味著要放棄我的學(xué)術(shù)生涯，至少我的博士論文寫(xiě)作要延后了。這是一個(gè)艱難的決定，我的生活迎來(lái)了大轉(zhuǎn)變。不久，我的在線研究工作也結(jié)束了，我在深圳只剩下有限的工資和只夠用到明年的積蓄。

After a year at the CHTF I faced another challenge, how to go on. Go back to Hungary, and start a new life there? Staying in Shenzhen and finding a new job? Joining one of the teams of English teachers, and seeing how can I survive? Or applying to be a university teacher teaching economics again? There were channels for these, but finally I didn’t choose any of them. I joined a small consultancy company to be the project manager of the international trade section, handling the export-import between China and Hungary, being the contact person for the Hungarian partners. Before I was teaching international economics theory, but now I was?on the field, the connection point between sellers and buyers, checking exchange rates, delivery fees, handling failures and upset customers, and so on.

在 CHTF 工作一年后，我面臨另一個(gè)問(wèn)題，那就是我將何去何從。回到匈牙利，開(kāi)始新的生活？留在深圳，找一份新的工作？找一份英語(yǔ)老師的工作，看我能否勝任？或者再申請(qǐng)當(dāng)大學(xué)老師，教經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)？這些都是謀生之道，但我都沒(méi)有選擇任何一條。我進(jìn)入了一家小型咨詢公司，擔(dān)任國(guó)際貿(mào)易部的項(xiàng)目經(jīng)理，處理中國(guó)和匈牙利之間的進(jìn)出口，是匈牙利合作伙伴的聯(lián)系人。以前我是教國(guó)際經(jīng)濟(jì)理論的，但我現(xiàn)在開(kāi)始實(shí)踐，成為買(mǎi)賣雙方的中間人，檢查匯率、交貨費(fèi)，處理失敗的交易，平息煩躁的客戶等等。

The owner and director of the small company was a Uighur Chinese guy, who had lived and studied in Hungary before, could speak the language perfectly, and also worked as an interpreter. He became my mentor, although in the beginning he didn’t think our relationship would be so long. He offered me a temporary job to try, with a lower salary, until I could find something better for myself. But after three months of work in his team he came to me one day and said that I didn’t need to go on searching for a new job, he wanted me there permanently. So, we became colleagues, he became my boss, and slowly became friends too. How to do the business in China – I learnt all the mysteries from him. Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we were upset and had some struggles, but went through the stages we had to.

這家小公司的老板兼董事是維吾爾人，以前在匈牙利生活和學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)，會(huì)講一口非常流利的匈牙利語(yǔ)，還做過(guò)口譯。他成了我事業(yè)上的導(dǎo)師，但一開(kāi)始他認(rèn)為我們“師徒”關(guān)系不會(huì)長(zhǎng)久。在我找到更合適的工作之前，他給了我一份臨時(shí)工作，讓我嘗試一下，工資比較低。在他的團(tuán)隊(duì)里工作三個(gè)月后，有一天他說(shuō)我不用再找工作了，他希望我留在這里一直干下去。于是，我們成了同事，他成了我的老板，慢慢成了朋友。如何在中國(guó)做生意——我從他那里學(xué)到了所有的奧秘。我們有歡笑，有難過(guò)，也有過(guò)艱難的時(shí)刻，但我們都挺過(guò)去了。

He gave me free hand and many suggestions, but didn’t direct me on a daily basis, let me learn and grow by myself. When I had questions I asked, or when I had suggestions on how to do it better or differently, I suggested, and we grew together. He gave me better and better conditions and I was working harder and harder. Later, I also helped him a lot in his attempts to do technology transfer between the two countries, but we didn’t have too much success, the positive parts came mainly from the trading.

他放手讓我自己干，提了很多建議，但并沒(méi)有每天指導(dǎo)我，而是讓我自己學(xué)習(xí)和成長(zhǎng)。有問(wèn)題的時(shí)候就請(qǐng)教他，如果我覺(jué)得哪方面可以改進(jìn)，我就向他提建議，我們齊頭并進(jìn)。他給我的條件越來(lái)越好，我工作也越來(lái)越努力。后來(lái)我還幫助他嘗試在兩國(guó)之間進(jìn)行技術(shù)轉(zhuǎn)讓，我們沒(méi)有非常成功，只是在貿(mào)易方面有所收獲。

I got initiations not just to the business, but also to the business culture in China. If you want to do good business here, then it’s not enough to have meetings and agreements, but also dinners and lunches, drinking wine and baijiu, representing your company and country, and many more. I took the obstacles and challenges and later was?made partner in the company. I also started my own business line, selling Hungarian wines in China, and helped out in many projects, many times worked hard at the evenings and weekends too. After a while I realized that in a way, I was doing the same as before in Hungary: I worked more and more, my relationships were not as deep as could be, many of them quite superficial, and I was not happy, just pretending to be. Although the business went well, I had some savings again, and everything seemed ok, actually I didn’t feel I was on the right track. I felt something is missing, but couldn’t recognize what exactly.

我收獲的不僅是更強(qiáng)的業(yè)務(wù)能力，更對(duì)中國(guó)的商業(yè)文化有所了解。如果你想在這里做好生意，開(kāi)會(huì)、簽合同是遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠的，你還需要應(yīng)酬，包括吃飯喝酒，代表的是你的公司和國(guó)家。我克服了這些挑戰(zhàn)，成為公司的合伙人。我也開(kāi)辟了自己的業(yè)務(wù)，在中國(guó)銷售匈牙利葡萄酒，幫助公司完成許多項(xiàng)目，很多晚上和周末也要努力加班。一段時(shí)間后，我意識(shí)到，我做的事情和以前在匈牙利一樣。我工作越來(lái)越多，但人際交往卻越來(lái)越膚淺，我并不快樂(lè)，只是假裝快樂(lè)。雖然生意做得很好，攢了一些積蓄，一切似乎都很好，實(shí)際上我覺(jué)得自己并不在一個(gè)正確的軌道上。我總覺(jué)得缺了點(diǎn)什么，但又不懂到底缺少什么。

Some bigger business issues came, what were clear signs of the fragility of this whole system we built up. We lost some money here and there, some customers didn’t take responsibility for their decisions and didn’t pay back their part, then later my partner found himself in a bigger financial trouble that he couldn’t solve. So, in 2017 I was in a situation again to decide between quitting and leaving everything behind, moving back to Hungary with a bitter taste in my mouth and acknowledging that it’s over or staying and persevering. I didn’t get rich, didn’t redeem the business and wine world in China, so I could start all over again in Hungary.

業(yè)務(wù)上出現(xiàn)了一些大問(wèn)題，這些問(wèn)題說(shuō)明我們建立的體系非常脆弱。公司許多業(yè)務(wù)都在虧損，一些客戶出爾反爾，沒(méi)有償還他們的金額，后來(lái)我的伙伴發(fā)現(xiàn)自己陷入了一個(gè)更大的財(cái)務(wù)困境，他無(wú)法脫身。因此，2017 年，我再次考慮辭職，拋下一切，返回匈牙利，雖然有點(diǎn)苦澀，但是我承認(rèn)一切都結(jié)束了。我沒(méi)有發(fā)家致富，沒(méi)有挽回在中國(guó)的生意，沒(méi)有救活中國(guó)的葡萄酒市場(chǎng)，我想在匈牙利從頭再來(lái)。

Eventually, I decided not to quit. Instead, I did everything for standing up, saving what I had and keeping alive what I can, giving hope and salary also to my colleagues. Until this moment I was a kind of second man behind the boss, and if something happened the boss protected me and the business too, but now the boss had disappeared and I had to grow up in a fast rhythm, making big decisions, setting up directions, and being fully responsible for myself and for my colleagues’ decisions, mistakes too. Needed to take on conflicts, talk to some business partners hardly and firmly, and giving up some connections too.

Besides, this was the year when I first visited Chiang Mai, and participated in an esoteric tantric yoga retreat, and got to know my current yoga teachers and the whole community in Asia. I joined their online courses, and when I had time and chance I visited them in Thailand, to dive deeper in this fantastic world of tantric yoga. After this first retreat, I decided to start practicing these teachings on a daily basis. I had practiced yoga before, but not consistently, and not with good directions, so it was a huge step for me to do this one hour per day, without missing a day. Fortunately, I got a massive support for this big change in my life from my new spiritual family.

也是在這一年，我第一次去了泰國(guó)清邁，參加了一個(gè)神秘的密宗瑜伽靜修營(yíng)，開(kāi)始了解我現(xiàn)在的瑜伽老師和整個(gè)亞洲社會(huì)。我參加了他們的在線課程，我一有時(shí)間和機(jī)會(huì)，就去泰國(guó)拜訪他們，深入了解這個(gè)奇妙的密宗世界。第一次靜修之后，我每天溫習(xí)這些教義。我以前也練過(guò)瑜伽，但沒(méi)有堅(jiān)持下來(lái)，也沒(méi)有方向，所以對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，每天練一小時(shí)，一天不落，就是一個(gè)巨大的進(jìn)步。幸運(yùn)的是，我遇到了精神上的家人，我做出改變，他們給了我巨大的支持。

When I started my spiritual journey with Mahasiddha yoga school, I weighed 88kg. Back then, I didn’t do any daily practice on a daily basis, I was drinking alcohol several days a week, was eating meat almost on a daily basis, didn’t pay too much attention to my diet, and my consciousness level of my everyday life was very low, limited to surviving.

我在瑪哈悉達(dá)瑜伽學(xué)校開(kāi)始我的精神之旅時(shí)，我有 88 公斤，每天都不做任何日常練習(xí)，每周都會(huì)喝幾次酒，幾乎每天都在吃肉，對(duì)我的飲食沒(méi)有太多關(guān)注，對(duì)日常生活沒(méi)有追求，“活著”就行。當(dāng)然，我還假裝我很享受生活。

With these new practices and concepts, my life started to change radically. Still, I felt that this change was too slow, and sometimes didn’t feel any change at all, but looking back to these last 3-4 years I can see the transformation clearly. On one hand, I started to do more and more practice daily, change my time from ordinary, meaningless things to spiritual practice. I started to participate in spiritual challenges, with the very clear target to grow and transform. On the other hand, I started to leave behind some bad habits, changed my diet, reduced my alcohol intake, and introduced new good habits. The result was stunning both physically and mentally. I lost 13-15kg in two years, and could keep this level in a long term, without any problem. I levelled up my practice to 2-3 hours, later more, and changed my priorities in the daily life: put the spiritual practice at front, and the business as second.

學(xué)習(xí)了這些新的瑜伽動(dòng)作和理念后，我的生活開(kāi)始發(fā)生根本性的變化。我仍然覺(jué)得這種變化太慢了，有時(shí)根本感覺(jué)不到任何變化，但回顧過(guò)去這三四年，我可以清楚地看到這種轉(zhuǎn)變。一方面，我每天做越來(lái)越多的瑜伽，不再做普通的、無(wú)意義的事情，而是做精神上的練習(xí)。開(kāi)始參加靈修挑戰(zhàn)賽，目標(biāo)非常明確，就是為了成長(zhǎng)和轉(zhuǎn)變。另一方面，我開(kāi)始拋棄一些壞習(xí)慣，改變飲食習(xí)慣，少喝酒，培養(yǎng)好習(xí)慣。身體上和精神上都發(fā)生了驚人的轉(zhuǎn)變。我在兩年內(nèi)減掉了 13-15 公斤，能長(zhǎng)期保持這樣的減重速度，沒(méi)有任何問(wèn)題。我每天瑜伽時(shí)間增加到 2-3 小時(shí)，循序漸進(jìn)，把精神練習(xí)放在第一位，而把事業(yè)放在第二位。

I got and still get many supports and help from my teachers, from my classmates, from my girlfriend, Nicole, who is also a yoga practitioner and certified teacher, and from my assistant, Nancy, who is not just supporting my business steps, but also a good friend. I cannot say enough thanks to all of them, and those many more friends I met and got many kinds of support in the last 13 years. All this journey is full of ups and downs, and I couldn’t be here without them. New friendships and brotherhood are formed to fight with my real enemy, that finally I found: it is myself. It is my monkey mind, with whom I am fighting on a daily basis, with more or less success. This is the ultimate fight, to learn to silence the mind, control the ego, learn to be selfless and humble, and value all the relationships and feedbacks as teachers in life.

My story in China started when I got a job offer for a company in Guangzhou. I never thought of China as a place where I would like to live, I only considered it as a place to travel sometime in my life. Surprisingly, China has turned out to be the country that has brought me the most exciting adventures and experiences in my life so far.

What do you like most about Guangzhou or China as a whole?

I currently live in Guangzhou, I have been here more than 4 years now, but I am moving to Xiamen shortly. Guangzhou as a city has made me find a hobby and a passion that is dancing salsa, thanks to this I have been traveling through the rest of Asia always looking for places where I can dance and meet new people. Also the location of Guangzhou has allowed me to travel to many countries and live unique adventures, which is perfect for a restless and curious soul like mine.

What fascinated you the most about living in China??

One of the things that fascinates me the most about China is the security that this country provides, especially for a woman. The tranquility of being able to walk at dawn knowing that nothing is going to happen to you.

I am a faithful believer that things do not happen without a reason, even if China was not in my plans. Life gives you what you need and not what you think you need. China has given me the privilege of having a good quality of life and a job that possibly in another part of Europe I would not have gotten..

我一直相信，事情不會(huì)無(wú)緣無(wú)故發(fā)生，中國(guó)不在我的計(jì)劃之內(nèi)。生活會(huì)給你真正需要的東西，而不是你認(rèn)為需要的東西。中國(guó)給了我更好的生活和工作，這是我在歐洲其它國(guó)家無(wú)法得到的。

The most wonderful thing about being here is the possibility of meeting people from all over the world. Most of us come from our countries with a closed mind, when we arrive here, our experiences enrich our lives and modify our vision of the world. I do not think that what China has provided me with is anything material, but something more valuable that has to do with the expansion of knowledge about many aspects of life.

Continuing with the aforementioned, it is fun to go back to your home country and see that people don’t let go of preconceived ideas about China and other places in the world. When you tell them about the things you have experienced and how wrong they are in many of their prejudices, you feel that you come from another world.

Every time I return to Barcelona, there is one side of China that I always miss. In my life abroad it feels like there is always an anecdote or valuable experience at the end of each day, but when I return to my hometown the days seem boring, as well as the conversations that I share with people. It feels like in my hometown nothing has changed and I feel that I no longer belong to any place specific place in the world, but to everywhere.
